On the day of September 11, 2001, I was working making my security rounds at the jail where I was employed in Maryland.  I had the television on in the pod and CNN showed a plane striking one of the towers of the World Trade Center in New York City.  I could not believe what I was seeing. The jail was locked down and there was no information forthcoming until later in the evening.  I had to work a mandatory 16 hours, and it was so upsetting not knowing what was happening.  Before I fully understood the gravity of the situation, another plane hit the pentagon and another plane was brought down due to the heroic actions of the passengers storming the cockpit that was controlled by the hijackers.  We can never forget these brave men and women and the sacrifice they made to save America. This day will never be forgotten.  911 is always in our hearts.
