The coronavirus pandemic has left many of us feeling depressed and disconnected from a sense of normalcy. We cannot afford to dwell endlessly on containment, confinement, restrictions, and precautions. This incessant worry has taken a significant toll on our mental well-being, and it’s time to reclaim our contentment. Now, we face a crisis in our democracy, and it is crucial that we remain resilient and united. We will overcome this challenge, and I firmly believe that, with faith in God, we will not only survive but emerge stronger.

Do not lose your faith; trust in Him and find ways to relax your mind. Acknowledge your feelings of sadness and emotional turmoil, but also seek guidance and strength from your beliefs. What we are witnessing in today’s world is frightening, and we must stand firm against it.

To relieve stress effectively, take specific actions:

1. Dedicate quiet moments to yourself. Go to your patio, basement, or backyard, breathe in the fresh air, close your eyes, and allow soft, soothing music to wash over you. Alternatively, shut your eyes, listen to your inner thoughts, and meditate. Picture yourself on a distant beach, soaking in the warm sand and the soothing sound of the ocean breeze.

2. Reminisce about happy memories, smile at those thoughts, and allow yourself to relax.

3. Light a scented lavender candle, settle into your favorite chair, and eliminate distractions. Focus solely on yourself. Take deep breaths and commit to relaxing.

4. Make it a priority to go for a nature walk around your home or block. This exercise is essential; it will refresh your spirit.

Schedule time for yourself at least once a week. Remember, this too shall pass, and we will emerge triumphant.
